Ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared multiband filter (MBP-A50)

MBP-A50 is a multi-region spectral filter. The reference spectrum shows multiple high-transmission regions at approximately 401-634 nm; 841-1200 nm. Light from these bands passes through the same optic. Check every band against your light source and detector. To measure the bands separately, use alternating light sources or separate detection paths.

Applications to consider

  • Multi-wavelength inspection: Consider retaining the measured visible and infrared regions in a common optical path. Match each illumination band and account for every transmitted region in the detector response.
  • Shared-path sensing: Use alternating light sources or separate detectors if you need to measure each wavelength band independently. Multiple passbands alone do not give separate readings for each band.
  • Illumination-profile development: Compare the transmitted and attenuated regions with the source spectrum. Include the additional UV or longer-wavelength transmission visible in the reference spectrum when relevant to the setup.

Choosing this filter

  • Additional regions reach at least 50% transmission at approximately 343-356 nm; 396-645 nm. Include these in the detector and blocking assessment.
  • Check the full wavelength range of your light source, the wavelengths your detector responds to, and how much unwanted light you need to block. Use the full curve when choosing a filter; the product code and peak do not tell the whole story.
  • Tell us the angle at which light reaches the filter and whether the beam is parallel or converging. For demanding rejection or high-power use, confirm the required blocking and power-handling specifications.
