How to choose
within this family.

Start with your signal

Identify the full emission band of your light source and the wavelengths your detector needs. A nominal wavelength alone does not describe the complete signal.

Compare bandwidth and throughput

Compare the main-band width (FWHM), peak transmission and transmission across your useful band. FWHM describes the width at half the peak; it is not a guarantee of uniform transmission throughout that band.

Read beyond the main peak

Look for secondary transmission regions and compare them with your detector sensitivity. Check the measured wavelength range too: the curve does not establish performance outside it.
